Welcome back to Houston (03/20/09)

Chad and Don, from the Ground Crew, were waiting for us just outside the security area of the terminal and had prepared signs to welcome the team back to Houston.

Puppets in the Park (03/19/09)

These puppets sang fun songs to the kids and got lots of attention. At the end of our trip, Mt Horeb Baptist Church was given these three puppets to use in their children's ministry.

Testimonies in the Park (03/19/09)

Chan shares his testimony with the help of his interpreter, Mieli. In the park this day, we performed mimes, puppet shows, sang songs and presented the gospel both from this stage and one-on-one with those who gathered around to see what we were doing.

"The Sin Box" (03/18/09)

Chad and Dianna perform a mime that illustrates how sin can look innocent and even appealing initially, but then those same sins trap us and keep us from living productive and meaningful lives. We look to various people who we believe can help us get out of the sin box, but eventually the audience sees that only Jesus can deliver us from the grip of sin.

"The Thief" (03/17/09)

This mime introduces various sinful characters and illustrates the crucifiction of Jesus as the willing substitution where Christ accepted the penalty that we deserved.

The women's conference (03/17/09)

Each afternoon, the women from the local churches came to a conference designed especially for them. Misty led them in praise and worship, then the volunteers from Houston taught them about godly women from the Bible.

Sharing in public and private schools (03/16/09)

This class of young kids enjoyed the puppets--especially when the puppets sang a song about laughing that we nick-named, "Tickle Me Elmo".

Heather, Jasmine & Amy share with kids (03/15/09)

Four teams of volunteers went to different churches to teach the kids age-appropriate lessons like "God loves you", read them Bible stories, sing songs with them and reinforce the theme for the day through colorful and interesting projects that the kids took home with them. Heather created the lessons and Amy developed the craft projects and coordinated all the supplies that each team would need.

Misty leads the children in songs at our camp (03/14/09)

Local churches brought children and youth to us Saturday morning for Bible study lessons, music, sports and the gospel presentation. In the morning, there were between 200 and 300 kids. In the afternoon, we had about 90 youth and pre-teens. It was in this format that several team members got their first chance to share their testimonies with the people of Honduras.

Getting ready to depart Houston (03/13/09)

The Ground Crew completes their baggage preparation (03/10/09)

Mr. Don has been working behind the scenes for weeks organizing the Ground Crew. They've collected VBS supplies, purchased suitcases, packed, weighed and re-packed the bags to be sure they are under the airline's posted weight limits. And he has had a lot of help. Special thanks also go to Lorena, Liliana, Carrie, Randy, Robin, Alice, Cindy, Walter, Kerry, Angela and Marisa.

Jeanette, Tara and Kim get their lessons ready (03/10/09)

We were all disappointed to learn that Tara will not be able to travel to Honduras with us, due to doctors' concerns about recent changes in her kidney disease. Tara has contributed so much to helping us get prepared, and we know she will be our #1 praying supporter. Please join the Honduras team in prayer for her healing.

Honduras Team Meeting (03/10/09)

Dianna's team prepares to lead a women's conference titled, "Mujeres que andan en fe", which means "Women Walking in Faith". They will study women of the Bible such as Mary & Martha, Esther, the Samaritan Woman, Eve and Sarah. They will specifically look at these biblical women's faith and how they allowed God to use them.
